In particular, Camp Tidnish, which enables all children no matter their disabilities to enjoy a real camp experience, has a special place in my heart.
My 12-year-old son Taylor was born with a brain injury and as a result, he is developmentally delayed, he has had many health issues over the years which means that Taylor has not been able to experience a lot of normal childhood activities. Being able to send him to camp with other children that are living with disabilities and know that he will have all of his needs meet is not only important but necessary so that I can feel secure in knowing that he is going to enjoy himself while making fun childhood memories!
I have worked to support Easter Seals over the years in my previous career and also on a personal level, so being able to work in a brokerage that has supported Camp Tidnish is especially meaningful to me. This year my goal is to raise $2,100 or more which is enough to send one child with disabilities to Camp Tidnish. In order to raise these funds, I proudly participated in the 2021 Easter Seals Drop Zone event in which I did rappel down 1801 Hollis Street in Halifax! Also, a portion of all of my sales will go towards this amazing organization.
